Hypersonic missile strike hits Israel
Houthi rebels in Yemen have launched attacks on Israel using hypersonic missiles and drones. In a statement on Sunday, the armed group claimed to have fired multiple hypersonic ballistic missiles with warheads, named “Palestine-2,” targeting Tel Aviv.
According to Anadolu Agency, operations at Tel Aviv airport were temporarily suspended following the missile strike. The Houthis also said they deployed two drones targeting the southern city of Eilat.
The group claimed the attack was in response to what they described as “massacres and dangerous aggression” by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip. They added that such attacks would continue as a “religious, moral, and humanitarian duty” until the repression in Gaza ceases.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military stated that the missile was successfully intercepted, causing no casualties or damage. However, they have not released information regarding the interception or impact of the drone attacks.
This attack comes amid escalating regional tensions. Just a few days earlier, the Israeli military carried out extensive airstrikes in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, targeting Houthi headquarters, command centers, and various security and intelligence facilities, involving a dozen fighter jets.

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, claimed that a dozen Houthi fighters were killed, while Houthi-aligned media reported only two deaths and at least 48 injuries. During the strikes, Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi was delivering a live televised speech.
This cycle of attacks and counterattacks is further destabilizing the Middle East, where tensions continue to rise over the ongoing Israeli operations in Gaza.
