The summit, attended by about 35 world leaders, was aimed at ending the more than two-year-long Israel-Hamas war in Gaza and paving the way for lasting peace in the Middle East.

After signing the agreement, President Trump said, "Today we didn't just end a war - we wrote a new history for the Middle East. This is a peace agreement that will bring a new dawn to the region."

In response to reporters' questions about the durability of the agreement, he firmly said, "This agreement will survive—permanent peace will be its outcome."
